The Yeast Phenomics research group uses yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the most suitable eukaryotic model organism for genome-scale studies, to investigate basic biological phenomena. We are mainly focused on the regulation of lipid metabolism, which is important biotechnologically (e.g. biofuel production) and biomediacally (e.g. type 2 diabetes and other metabolic syndrome-related diseases).

The experimental techniques used in the laboratory include high-throughput genetics for QTL mapping (X-QTL), synthetic genetic array (SGA) analysis and synthetic dosage lethality (SDL) analysis, and DNA microarray-based transcriptome analysis.
