DUŠAN TURK's LAB
Our scientific interest is in the investigation of principles of
molecular mechanisms in biological systems at the atomic level from
the points of view of structural, molecular and computational biology.
Our major research areas are:
- study of endosomal immune response system with focus on
interactions of proteases, their inhibitors and MHC class II
molecules,
- study of mechanism amyloid fibril formation,
- development of computational tools of structural biology,
- development of links between nano-technology and moleclular biology
The molecules of our interest are proteases themselves, their
substrates, including proenzymes, and inhibitors as regulators of
their activity. In order to study the principles of intra- and
intermolecular interactions the 3-dimensional structure of a
macromolecule resolved to atomic details is an essential step.
Here the latest releases of MAIN
are tested and PURY is developed.
